TW: homophobia

Alan Turing was the father of modern computer science, a hero of World War II, and one of the greatest minds of the past century.

He was also a homosexual, and for that, the British government had him chemically castrated and eventually drove him to suicide.

Today, almost a century since Turing’s birth, the House of Lords refused to grant Turing a pardon posthumously for his “crimes”.  The crime of depriving the world of Turing’s genius, however, shall never be redressed.
